FLOOD FAMILY

                                           Joseph FLOOD was transported to Botany Bay in 1793 on the Boddingtons. He                                            was a political prisoner. Joseph was educated, and could read and write well. He                                            taught his elder children. He was born in C1863 in Dublin, Ireland.  In the later                                            years of his life he was a farmer. He died in 1808 in Parramatta.

                                           He moved in with Ann Germaine (Jarmy) who had been sent out on the Mary Ann                                            in 1791. They had 1 son - John before she left him and live with Samuel                                            HOWELL. Ann GORMAN then moved in, they had 4 sons. When Joseph died                                            Ann lived with Mr SMITH.  Ann died before 1822, her youngest son was in a                                            Orphan School in the 1822 census. John married in Sydney, then moved to                                            Launceston, Tasmania  with his wife and 3 children. Joseph's son Edward became                                             the Mayor of Sydney in 1849.
